HINGE DAY

With remembrance, bid the old year good-bye,
and thank Mother Earth for her supply.

Stand still, spend some silent time alone,
listen, let it seep into the bone.

Seek out, set right any wrongs.
Forgiveness to this day belongs.

Then turn away from the year that ends
and rejoice with hope as the new one begins.
